Spotlight on Russia. Holidays - HOLIDAYS

Цели: способствовать формированию общекультурной и этнической идентичности как составляющей гражданской идентичности личности, развитию интереса к изучению культуры своего народа, готовности содействовать ознакомлению с ней представителей других культур; создать условия для совершенствования языковых и речевых навыков в ситуации речевого общения по теме “Каникулы”.

Оборудование: карточки с заданиями для выполнения минипроекта.

Ход урока

I. Организационный момент

— Good morning, boys and girls! (Good morning!)

— How are you? (Fine, thanks!)

— Are you all here?

II. Работа по теме урока

1. Работа с текстом в журнале Spotlight on Russia

— Open the magazine Spotlight on Russia at the end of your books, page 12. What is the page about? (It’s about holidays and summer camps.)

(Ученики самостоятельно читают текст о летних лагерях в России и отвечают на вопросы учителя.)

— How many Russian children go to summer camps every year?

— Why do they go there?

— What do they do there?

— Do you or your friends go to summer camp?

— Where do you go? Do you like it?

(Ученики с помощью учителя читают подзаголовок и текст о детском центре “Орленок”. Затем учитель задает ребятам вопросы.)

— Would you like to go to the Orlyonok Children’s Centre?

— Look at the pictures. What activities the Children’s Centre can offer you?

— Which of these things do you like doing?

2. Выполнение задания на доске

— Alina went to the Orlyonok Children’s Centre last summer. Read the paragraph from her letter to the Spotlight on Russia and complete it.

Dear Spotlight on Russia

Hi! I (1)... (go) to the “Orlyonok” last summer. It was fantastic! I (2)... (make) a lot of new friends and (3)... (have) a great time. We (4)... (swim) in the Black Sea. We (5)... (play) sports and (6)... (enjoy) campfires in the evening. It was my best holyday.

(Ученики самостоятельно выполняют задание, а затем все вместе проверяют ответы.

III. Инструктаж по выполнению домашнего задания

(Учитель предлагает ребятам написать дома аналогичное письмо о своем отдыхе в летнем лагере.)

— Write the paragraph about the children’s camp you went to last summer.

(Затем учитель объясняет задание в рабочей тетради.

Учитель записывает домашнее задание на доске, а ученики — в дневниках:

IV. Выполнение мини-проекта Ready for Holidays?

(Учитель задает ученикам вопросы.)

— Do you always enjoy your holiday?

— You’re sometimes bored, aren’t you?

You’re going to work together and learn how to make your holiday excited and full of fun.

(Учащиеся работают в парах. Учитель раздает каждой паре учеников карточки с заданием. У всех одинаковое задание, но разные тексты. Тексты напечатаны крупным шрифтом на разноцветной бумаге, первая буква в каждом тексте выделена.)

— Fill in the missing words.

1) Holidays. (1)... does the word mean to you? Sun and fun? Or long empty days when you wish you were somewhere else? Time passes slowly if you (2)... nothing to do. Plan ahead for a brilliant (3)...!

2) On your marks! Get ready to stop being bored. Write a list (1)... wonderful and exciting things you could do, at home or away. Think Big! Decide to become a champion swimmer, to climb the highest (2)..., to write a hit record. Write all your wishes, (3)... and small. They may not all happen but they will get you in the right mood. Holidays are more fun if you have a goal.

3) Lists! If you are going away, make a list of everything you (1)... going to need: clothes, games to play (2)... the evening, jokes to tell after dinner. Write your list with a friend. It is more fun and two (3)... are better than one! When your list is ready, stick it inside your bag so you don’t lose it.

4) If you can’t live (1)... music, choose your favourite hits and make (2)... your Walkman has batteries. Take a camera. Photos (3)... other souvenirs bring some sunshine to the cold, dark months ahead.

5) Don’t make the same mistakes twice! Play back your last holiday (1)... your mind. What’s wrong (2)... it? Was it boring? Or was it tiring? It (3)... hard to make things better unless you know what’s wrong!

6) A word of warning: if you stay in the (1)... too long, you bum. That’s fact. This summer a (2)... and a good sun cream can be your best friends. Danger zones: your nose, shoulders and neck. Don’t stay in the sun between midday and three (3)... when the sun is extremely hot.

7) Yippee! The big day is nearly here! The day before you leave, check the house from top (1)... bottom: you may find some things you need on your holiday. If you have a (2)... memory, stick a note on the bathroom mirror: “Remember to (3)... your toothbrush!”

8) Smile! A big friendly (1)... is understood in every language. (2)... the beach, in a cafe or in a long queue, a smile is (3)... best passport to a mega holiday!

Учитель проверяет работы, затем ученики прикрепляют карточки с текстами на доску так, чтобы получилось слово HOLIDAYS. Учащиеся читают все тексты самостоятельно или вслух и обсуждают советы для отдыха.)

V. Подведение итогов урока

— Can you talk about holiday at summer camp?

(Учитель оценивает деятельность учащихся на уроке.)
